What Is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive laying on of hands healing system
of incomparable ease and power. Reiki is a spiritually guided life
force energy. This means that the practitioner does not manipulate
energy. The practitioner is a channel through which energy flows.
The act of laying hands on the human or animal body to comfort
and relieve pain is as old as instinct. When experiencing pain,
the first thing most people do is to put their hands on it. Human
touch conveys warmth, serenity, healing, caring and love.
What Does Reiki Mean?
REIKI is pronounced Ray-Key
REI means universal and refers to the spiritual dimension
and the soul
KI means life force energy which flows through all
that is alive, including plants, animals and humans
When a persons Ki is high, they will feel strong, confident
and ready to enjoy life and take on its challenges. When Ki is low,
one will feel weak and is more likely to get sick. We receive Ki
from the air we breathe, from food, sunshine and from positive thought.
It is also possible to increase out Ki by using breathing exercises
and meditation.
What Does Reiki Do?
Reiki speeds the healing process and provides a source of restoring
energy while one is ill, under medical treatment, or in recovery.
Reiki is also useful in managing the stress of everyday living.
Reiki cannot be guided by the mind. Therefore, it is not limited
by the experience or the ability of the practitioner. It can never
be misused, since it always creates a healing effect. Reiki is a
totally positive energy.
Does Reiki Heal Any Ailment?
Reiki is an energy that helps the body to overcome physical illnesses.
It is important that a patient with any illness be followed by a
medical doctor. However, Reiki will improve the results of medical
treatment and also help reduce negative side effects, accelerate
healing time, reduce pain and stress.
